President of Indonesia : Indonesia Military Need More Power than Other Countries
On May 3, 2013, held joint military exercises ( Indonesian Armed Forces ) in Coral Teapot, East Java.President said that the Indonesian military forces should be larger than neighboring countries. The reason, Indonesia has a larger area than Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries.
"We have a unique field and can be a challenge when conducting war. We also have a sophisticated tool of war, soldiers have steel-minded, able to fight in any terrain, and never give up," said the President.
The president added that Indonesia be sure to build a reliable defense posture. Along with the economic growth he's also optimistic that Indonesia could soon establish minimum essential force (MEF) of defense. Current budget said he also focused on the modernization of the main tools of weapons systems as well as improving the welfare of soldiers and their families.
"That's the part of the government's commitment to building a professional military, modern and capable, as well as increasing their welfare," said the President.
